Faith in the Waiting: Trusting God’s Timing
Faith in the Waiting: Trusting God’s Timing
Waiting on God has got to be one of the biggest tests of our faith. We all go through times where more than anything else, we just want to hear from God!
And, if we are completely honest with ourselves, we would admit that if we have surrendered something to Him in an act of extreme obedience, then we
expect Him to show up - and quickly!
So what do we do when we’ve done our part but find ourselves still playing the “waiting game”?
I have two suggestions. The first one I heard in a sermon once and it’s helped me a lot. The preacher said, “Are you waiting to hear from God for direction? While you are waiting, think back to the last thing He told you to do and stay faithful to that until He speaks again.”
The other thought I’d like to share is that with God “waiting” doesn’t mean inaction. God can do His greatest work in us while we are waiting if we will work together with Him in this season. This is time for us to dig deeper in Scripture, to seek God’s face, and to use our faith. This is not wasted time, it’s growing time!
